## About Gubin – Guben

Gubin and Guben were a single town until 1945, when the new border along the Lusatian Neisse split it in two: the Polish half belongs to the Lubusz region, the German half to Brandenburg's Spree-Neiße district. The crossing runs over a river bridge and is open to cars in both directions. Most of its users are residents of the two towns, crossing for work, school or shopping, along with drivers from around Krosno Odrzańskie and Zielona Góra heading towards Cottbus.

The Polish-German border is an internal Schengen border, so there are no passport booths and no systematic passport checks.
