## About Rosówek – Rosow

Rosówek is a village in the Kołbaskowo municipality on Szczecin's western outskirts; across the border lies Rosow in Brandenburg's Uckermark. The crossing is open to cars in both directions and acts as a local link between the Szczecin area and the villages on the German side. It is close to the Kołbaskowo motorway crossing but quite different in character: instead of transit traffic, you mostly see commuters, family visits and small shopping trips.

The Polish-German border is an internal Schengen border and most drivers cross it without stopping. As of September 2026, however, temporary controls are in force – Germany has run them since 2023, Poland since July 2025 – and drivers trying to avoid queues near the motorway sometimes switch to smaller crossings, this one included; a patrol may stop a car at random here too. So before travelling, look at the Polish Border Guard and Bundespolizei announcements, and carry a passport or ID card. German motorways are free for cars.

Traffic at Rosówek follows the working day and the situation on the nearby A6: when a queue builds at Kołbaskowo, the local roads fill up quickly. For the onward journey to Berlin the motorway is usually still the better choice, and for destinations north of Szczecin, Lubieszyn–Linken. For Schwedt, Krajnik Dolny is convenient.
